As mentioned later in the comic, in the original ideas I had for the hand-drawn comic, there was going to be a storyline featuring an alien invasion. In preparation for the invasion, one member of the group was going to be kidnapped and replaced by a purple shapeshifting doppelganger. Since the hand-drawn comic was now officially over, that storyline would never see the light of day, and I figured I should start incorporating some of those plot lines into the sprite comic if possible. I thought this comic might be a way to introduce those aliens, whose description coincidentally happens to also describe the Author at the time, being purple and flying. Of course, those of you who have already read the comic you know that nothing came of this throwaway idea.
All that aside, I'm particularly fond of the widened eyes Mega Man has in the third panel. They might be too understated, leading some readers to not notice it, but I'm fond of small, understated sprite modifications that people typically overlook. I imagine it gives the more observant reader a little extra enjoyment for catching it, which adds to the overall enjoyment of the comic.
