While this is the fourth comic in the anniversary week, it's actually the first comic I made when I started playing around with the GIF animation program. After using Mega Man's sprite sheet for months and seeing his running sequence, I felt compelled to put it together and animate it, if only to see what it looked like animated. And then I animated Proto Man's run/slide thing, which is a much simpler bit of animation, and then put them together in this comic.
But since having two characters run across the screen isn't much of a comic, I added the bumpers at the beginning and end of the comic, putting it into the context of the animated anniversary comics.
Actually, now that I look at it, doesn't Mega Man's running sequence look a little off? I suppose the timing is a bit off, which can easily happen with GIF animators and is much easier to fix when you're using Flash. I suppose one of these days I'll have to go back and animate these comics properly in Flash, and it'll look much nicer. Or maybe I should leave it alone for prosperity.
Oddly enough, I think this is really the only time you ever see Proto Man show any real affection for ice cream. I mean, sure, he eats ice cream later with everyone else, but you never see him case as much as Chadling or George, and he never reacts this violently over it.
